◤ Problem
Most backpacks are built for one purpose.
Climbing packs are lightweight and minimal, while hiking packs are heavier and more feature-rich. AO Project explores a middle ground by combining the simplicity of a climbing pack with the support and versatility of a hiking bag.

Bag layout and features
AO Project includes a spacious main compartment, a dual-access front pocket for small items, and large side pockets for water bottles or other quick-access gear. The top flap secures extra items like a helmet, rope or jacket. The suspension system features load lifters, an adjustable chest strap, and mesh backing for added comfort.
Exploring color options
The primary black and yellow colorway was chosen for visibility in the backcountry. Purple accents provide contrast at touchpoints like zippers and interior linings, making items easier to see.
One bag, many uses
From climbing and skiing to daily commuting, AO Project adapts to a range of activities. Its design balances durability, comfort, and accessibility across environments.

◤ CLO3D
Digital Prototyping
CLO3D enabled real-time testing and adjustment of the pattern’s construction, eliminating the need for multiple sewn mockups.
Sewing Lines
CLO3D was used to digitally sew the pattern and generate a 3D mockup of the bag.
Stress Points
A fabric stress map revealed weak points such as the daisy chain, pockets, and shoulder straps, which were then reinforced as needed.
